We opened our family owned restaurant with the intention of sharing traditional Japanese hibachi style cooking with the low country and it was one of the first of its kind.

In 1988, the Murrells Inlet location opened as Kyoto Japanese Steakhouse, and later became Miyabi Kyoto Japanese Steakhouse in 1998. And the formerly known Miyabi Kyoto Japanese Steakhouse in Charleston opened in 1998.

Hachiya Kyoto Japanese Steakhouse was introduced in 2019 and in 2021, Hachiya Express, our quick-service Japanese Hibachi opened along the Grand Strand in Surfside Beach.
